Questions about Compress PDF
How do I compress a PDF to under 1 MB or 200 KB?+
Pick a target size from the first dropdown. The tool lowers image resolution and quality step by step and stops as soon as the file fits, so you get the best quality that still meets the limit.
Will my text stay selectable?+
Choose “Lossless” to keep text, links and bookmarks intact. The other presets re-render pages as optimized images, which gives much smaller files but turns text into pixels.
Why is my scanned PDF so large?+
Scans are full-page photos. Dropping to 110 dpi and grayscale typically shrinks a scanned document by 70 to 90 percent while staying perfectly readable.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?+
No. Everything runs in your browser; your file never leaves your device.
